Biography

John F. Kazanovicz II, Esq. practices in the construction, general liability, and employment practice groups and represented all sides of these types of disputes, including developers, general contractors, subcontractors, employers, employees, Fortune 500 Companies, and local businesses.

In his construction practice, Mr. Kazanovicz assists his clients at all stages of a project, from drafting of construction contracts through construction and potential claims and litigation which arise during and after the construction phase.

Mr. Kazanovicz also represents numerous international and local businesses in litigation including tech companies, supermarkets, hotels, car dealerships, and wineries.  Mr. Kazanovicz believes in a pragmatic approach to representation and works thoroughly to understand his client’s business while still employing the appropriate law.

In his employment practice, Mr. Kazanovicz works with his clients to develop risk management strategy, drafting of employment handbooks and agreements, responding to and attending governmental hearings including Department of Industrial Relations and EEOC, terminations, dispute resolution prior to the initiation of litigation, and litigation.

Mr. Kazanovicz lives in San Francisco with his wife and two daughters.  In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, basketball, and softball, being a fanatic when it comes to the Boston professional sports teams and cheering on his alma mater Brown University football team, where he played four years winning an Ivy League title in 2005.

Representative Experience
  • Successfully resolved a multi-million dollar claim on behalf of prime contractor brought by San Francisco homeowner
    regarding water intrusion and sequencing issues.
  • Successfully resolved claim on behalf electrical subcontractor relating to change order payments and failure to pay
    retention
  • Recovered damages against contractors, engineers, and subcontractors on behalf of homeowner relating to soil movement
  • Prevailed at multiple EEOC hearings on behalf of Construction clients being sued by former employees
